Finally, Some Good News

While the UN, Red Cross, and others are having a terrible time getting into the nation of Burma because of the recalcitrance of the military junta, World Vision has already begun distributing things necessary for survival.

If you would like to make a difference, there is an organization that is already in Myanmar on the ground. They can give genuine help rather than simply further lining the pockets of the Tatmadaw.

Click Here. In just the last few days, they've distributed over 38 tons of rice and 4,500 gallons of fresh water, making a life-or-death difference for over 100,000 people.

P.S. In addition to a one-time gift, the most powerful way you can help is by sponsoring a child in need in Myanmar. There are children waiting for a sponsor like you — especially now. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Myanmar child sponsor today.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice.

Crimes Against Humanity

I don't understand what we are waiting for. If this does not meet the definition, I don't no what does. Free Burma!

What are we waiting for? We are waiting for the UN, which means ultimately that we are waiting for China because they can veto anything along that line in the security council.

But waiting on China means waiting on the folks who brought us the Tianemen Square crackdown. Anything that happens to overthrow the regime of the generals will be interpreted by China as an invitation for them to intervene. They are already poised at the border of Myanmar in the event something like this should happen. They sent several regiments of reinforcements to the MM border back in September.

Your blog shows an enthusiasm that we all fear in the east, the Christian conspiracy to over throw government. Stop this evil conversion for power, if you have extra food keep it. We have survived 4000yrs we can this time too.

You people at the weakest moment in a countries history strike the hardest, by establish grass root support and then start of civil wars. Every calamity is viwed as an opening to establish Christian conversion camps. Remember tsunami relief you bastards did in Tamil Nadu India the after effects are still going on. Hindus and christians that you were able to successfully entice are fighting it out in the streets and paying by blood. Look what happened to Calcutta it’s tense and unstable. The list goes on.

This is the very reason Burma does not allow westerners and the Junta is smart and doing the right thing. Ha, 1 handfull rice to take over a poor soul. Shame on all Christians. Stop it.

The post left by anonymous demonstrates the kind of hatred and prejudice that is stirred up by the junta in Myanmar. According to such people it is better and smarter to die and to live in filth and poverty than to admit that the junta has done anything wrong. No, it is the white devil westerners that are to blame for all the trouble of Burma.

The problem with that way of thinking is that it was not westerners who killed 31 monks last fall; it was not Christians who went through the streets mugging and and beating on peaceful Burmese citizens. And it was not westerners, but a Japanase, who was killed by the murderers of Naypyidaw when he wanted nothing more than to take pictures and document the atrocities of the junta on their own people.

No, playing the race card cannot excuse the ferocious attacks of both the Tatmadaw and their toadies the Nasakha. As far as the civil war in Tamil -- that is another example of the unrest that was already going on before the tsunami because people want liberty. They do not want the military to enrich themselves from the difficulties of the people. But that is exactly what goes on in Burma, and that is exactly why it is not allowed for people in Burma to read this blog.
